We have written about Windows 7 God Mode in a previous post, Add the “God Mode” Control Panel to Windows 7. This provides access to all Windows 7 settings in one place. We have found a portable utility called Windows 7 in a Box that performs the same functions.
You can open Personalization, Task Manager, Microsoft Disk Defragmenter, Registry Editor, Device Manager, UAC Settings, Paint, Notepad, Calculator, and many other tools, programs, settings, and functions.

Since Windows 7 in a Box is a portable utility, it does not require installation. Simply extract the Windows 7 in a Box.exe file from the downloaded file, and run it.
In addition to accessing programs, tools, and settings, you can also log off, restart, or shut down your computer using this tool.
You can access various folders on your system using the Folders menu.
You can even organize your Internet Explorer Favorites outside of IE using the Internet Settings menu.
If you are still using Windows XP, there is a version of Windows 7 in a Box for Windows XP. Download Windows in a Box from http://www.big-daddy-design.com/windowsinabox.zip.
Windows in a Box does not need installation, either. Just like the Windows 7 version, extract the Window`s In A Box.exe file from the downloaded file and run it.
Just like the Windows 7 version, you can use Windows in a Box for XP to log off, restart, and shutdown your computer, and perform other functions, such as a Disk Defrag, a Scan Disk, and access the Task Manager.
There is a Hidden XP Functions menu containing many options providing access to functions that are not necessarily hidden, but may not be easy to find, such as the Character Map, Disk Management, Remote Desktop, and Computer Management.
NOTE: For some of the options in Windows in a Box for XP, you may encounter the following dialog box. Click Open to access the tool or program.
Both of these tools can be very handy if you use different computers and frequently access Windows settings, tools, and programs. Download these tools and explore the features available in the various menus.
